I always dreaded the day the wheels would fall off the bus and leave me stranded in nowhere land, turns out it came sooner than expected. On Monday I pulled the plug and quit my photography course at RMIT. I finally grew sick of living photography 24/7, of spending evey minute of every day researching, shooting, dreading the next studio session and what it would require, forking out hundreds of dollars on film, film processing, film scanning, replacing broken equipment, buying props, etc. etc. The truth is I never liked photography that much anyway. It was great when it was just me walking around Melbourne with my little digi camera, with no idea what I was doing or where I was going, but suprising myself with what I could do. I never cared for the "photographic masters" and what they had achieved, it was all about what I wanted to do, and doing things at my own pace. Taking away what I liked about photography, and amping up the workload, stress and expectations was bound to be the end of me.

That's not to say I won't ever return to photography, but I won't be back anytime soon either. So in the mean time...
